About

I am currently a Courant Instructor/Assistant Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

I obtained my PhD in Applied & Interdisciplinary Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics at University of Michigan, advised by Daniel Forger and co-advised by Brendon Watson. Before that, I graduated from New York University with a major in math and a minor in physics. I grew up in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

Research

I have a broad interest in mathematical biology, with a focus on modeling and simulation. My current research advances computational modeling of the mouse brain by: (1) leveraging cutting-edge experimental data to construct large-scale yet precise models, (2) developing efficient computational techniques to simulate these models, and (3) analyzing the resulting simulations to gain deeper insights into neuronal dynamics. In addition, I have conducted research on fluid–structure interaction problems in physiology.

Education

Besides teaching math, I’m the co-founder of Veritas China/唯理中国 (2015 - ), the largest student-run non-profit organization that aims to promote liberal arts education in China.

Other Interests

Books, music and cinema.
